Kenya Society for the Mentally Handicapped is a membership organization. The members of the society are parents of mentally disabled children, persons with mild to moderate mental disabilities, caregivers, professionals in the area of mental disabilities and prominent members of public sympathizing with the plight of the mentally handicapped. The parents make up the largest group accounting for some 80% of the total membership. KSMH works with parents, forming parent’s groups, initiating income generating activities, informing and educating them etc.
