Kenya Society for the Mentally handicapped

In a country where poverty levels are high, food support becomes very essential, especially because some of the mental disabilities are results of poor nutrition. Kenya Society for the Mentally Handicapped works tirelessly to mobilize food support for the needy families from all quarters. This food support helps individuals, families, homes and even whole communities to survive and to tide them over difficult periods such as droughts.


These photographs show the food support by Kenya Society for the Mentally Handicapped to individual families in rural areas, homes for the mentally disabled children and very large food donation to the parents of the mentally disabled as a community by Hindu Council during the severe drought in 2006.
